Hello!! So were are officially over 2 weeks into the new year and I’m already fulfilling some of my goals for 2018. My first goal is to get outside and explore more! I found that after living in Canada for just over 4 years I’ve been starting to take some of it’s beauty for granted. So I want to explore more of this amazing country, we started this weekend with a local hike and exploring Canmore.
My friend Madison suggested we head up to Grotto Canyon as it’s a pretty easy hike to ease ourselves into. We grabbed our backpacks and hiking boots and headed out for the day. If you are planning on doing this hike in the winter I have to pre warn you that the path is pretty much ice the whole way! I suggest investing in some spikes for your hiking boots (we clearly didn’t think that far ahead). I highly suggest this hike, it’s not too challenging (minus the ice) and has incredible photo op’s.
After our hike we headed into Canmore, it was only around a 20 minute drive. We stopped for coffee at RAVE Coffee in Canmore (highly recommend). The hike definitely made us work up an appetite so we took Jason and Madison to one of our favourite spots in Canmore – Rocky Mountain Flatbread co. We stopped here the day after our wedding with my Maid of Honour. If you’re ever in Canmore you should check out this restaurant their flatbreads taste amazing ( I recommend this Sundried Tomato flat bread).
I think my favourite part about living Canada is generally you can drive a couple of hours and experience amazing scenery. I already cannot wait for our next adventure. I’m Johnstone Canyon next!
Where have you travelled in Canada? Let me know suggestions!
