I’ve always loved making goals.
In my opinion it’s never too late to make some resolutions. I personally love resolutions, they make us aware of the fact that we want to make changes. One thing I love to do is write down my goals, writing your goals down and looking at them everyday is a fabulous reminder to work towards those goals everyday, whatever they may be.
So what better place to write down some of things I want to focus more time on this year than my blog.
Here it is, I’m making a promise to myself to really make my blog a priority this year. Sometime life s**t happens and you find your attention is needed in other places. I love having something to focus my energy towards and I know that writing a blog post always lifts my mood, so I apologise to my blog for neglecting you when s**t hit the fan at the end of 2016.
2. Talk to family more
Moving to the other side of the world definitely has it’s good days and of course the bad days. Not being able to see your family regularly can be incredibly tough at times. Everyone gets caught up in their daily lives, me included, but it’s so important to make small efforts to let your family know that you love them.
3. Living in the moment
It’s so important to realise that life is happening right now. Sure we can wait for it to get better but that’s just wasting time, embrace and be grateful for what you have in this moment.
4. Try new ways to stay fit
I get so set in my ways, especially when it comes to fitness. People can get stuck in a rut with their fitness routine and I like to remind myself that fitness is supposed to be about growth and having fun, so whenever I feel bored with my fitness routine I want to put myself out there and try something I’ve never done!
5. Listen more
Okay we are probably all guilty of not listening enough, we get so wrapped up in our own lives and thoughts that we forget to listen. Sometimes all someone needs is for someone to listen, not to respond with their own opinion.
I love to read, and I seriously don’t know why I don’t spend more time doing it! I find it so therapeutic to shut off from the world, put down my phone, sit in silence and just read. It gives me chance to breathe and focus just on the page in front of me.
7. Getting outdoors more
I realise that I am so lucky to have moved to one of the most beautiful countries in the world – Canada, but I feel like I can really take it for granted sometimes. Sometimes spending time outdoors is the breath of fresh air we need (literally), it gives us chance to think and gather our thoughts.
What will you be spending more time doing in 2017?
Thanks for stopping by,
